4-5-1 Crazy Bonanza
What you need to maximise the effect of this tactic:
1. Goalkeeper with good kicking and creativity (at least 10). If you don't have one change goalkeeper instructions according to the said below.
2. AMR/L with good dribbling skills, change the crossing tendency according to Crossing and Technique attributes.
3. Three midfielders that considered to be linkers, that's the triangular on midfield. DMC/L is the defensive one, having a midfielder there with good creativity, passing and tackling (Maor Bozaglo, for example) will cause to a lot of quick counter-attacks. MC/R is attacking midfielder, but also should have decent tackling and positioning skills, otherwise he'll get too many yellow cards. AMC should be pacey, with very good finishing skills (Long Shots, Finishing and Composure) and decent aerial ability, he'll get plenty of chances to score.
4. Striker should be quick, with decent finishing, aerial skills aren't vital but could be extra, make sure he's quite intelligent (off the ball, positioning, team work) otherwise he'll get caught in offside too much, passing skills are extra as he'll set more chances to the AMC.
5. At least one WB, the tactic default is the right one since there aren't many attacking left backs.
6. Adjust set-pieces accordingly (set takers, best headers inside the box, best long-shots players lurking outside area)
I used this tactic with Sparta Rotterdam, and it's been extremely successful, keeping 60% possession on away games and 65% possession on home games. Midfielders making about 60-70 passes per a game. If you don't have a goalkeeper with high creativity and kicking, you might want to change distribution, creative freedom and passing style to whatever you got.
The media predicted me to finish 15th, and I'm currently 5th, with only two "major" (my transfer budget was £0) buys - Maor Bozaglo who hardly got any first-team game, and David Williams, a pacey 19 year old Australian striker from Brondby that also barely saw the pitch. My AMC is the player with the highest average rating on the league.
Try it for about 10 games, give me a feedback, I'll try to make several tactics depends on different situations but I kept playing with this tactic even on hard times, and got the result, so erm.. try it, yeah.
This tactic is 15-25 shots on goal per game, btw. Should be 30+ with top team.
