Somewhere like Braga, Vit Guimareas (sp) or Leiria (sp) in the Portugese top flight will be a challenge. No money, small stadiums and sheer domination by the big 3 of Sporting, Porto & Benfica (all who have huge stadiums/support) will make it a challenge.
The fun part is that you can sign pretty much any foreign players without hassle over work permits, so you can raid Brazil / Argentina for all their young talents. You'll probably end up selling them to bigger clubs every year but the money will be important, and eventually you'll expand the stadium and challenge for the league.
The good thing then is if you perform in the first couple of seasons you can jump to one of the big 3 clubs in Portugal (who will undoubtedly sack their managers if you beat them). From there, with a bit more money and more success you could probably move to Spain and win everything. (or you could emulate Mourinho's career and go to England).

I keep the fire going by ensuring i have young talent to nurture. It gets boring if i'm just focusing on winning the league but if i have something to look forward to i tend to keep playing just to see the fruits of my money/hard work in the training of these starlets
