Down the job center looking for a coach, found a coach with great numbers alas he was looking for 3 times what my board were willing to pay a coach. Noticed that he was still playing, though he did said he was retiring next year. Scouted him and the scout gave 2 thumbs up. Turns out he was the dogs boIIocks of keepers. Offered him a job as a player/coach and I could comfortable afford him.

I lost this save game because I decided to go to a huge DB so I does not affect my current game.

Now I did scratch my head a bit afterwards as I had sent the scout to look at a player rather than having the scout find him. I am just curious whether anyone thinks this is a bit dodgy for a Llama to send a scout to scout a player under these circumstances or is it cool because he came to me albiet as a coach

If you want to sign him because your scout found him, or because he applied in the job center, it's all fine.

If you want to have him because he was brilliant in a different savegame, it's a case of prior knowledge and that's more than dodgy.

Many is the time I've found an appropriate coach, noticed he hasn't hung up his boots yet and thus offered him a player coach contract, just as backup players. Some of them have even given me a couple of seasons of full time playing service and been stars.

Nothing wrong with what you did. He applied for a job, so you scouted him. It's all :thup: to me

Seriously though, I did ask this and I don't recall the answer. Though I suspect it was similar to the answers here. Sounds like you were lucky though, the coach I was looking at had diabolical numbers, I took him anyway

If so I reckon he's kosher He applied for my job through the job centre as well and i did the same as you, at the moment he is doing a heroic job between the sticks but won't reconsider retirement at the end of the season
