Scout Where You Can Tour, or SWYCT.

This is a guideline that was devised as a method of determining where you should be able to send your Scouts when managing a Lower League Club. Financial constraints would make it highly unlikely that a Manager could send a Scout from England to Africa, South America or other faraway places, so the best way to decide where you could send them was to look at where the game would allow you to tour, in the United Kingdom Leagues this would be any of the Home Countries and Ireland, and only send your Scouts there.

It was later decided that it would probably be fair to scout your borders (SYB), i.e. send scouts from a German Club to surrounding Nations like Denmark, Austria, France, Poland, etc. when not managing in the UK.

You'll need to pay for scout's scouting expenses in FM2006, thus it's possible to send him to Brazil and bankrupt yourself. Do you think the rule should be revised for FM2006 series onwards?

Same guideline applies. There's even more ground to apply it if scouting costs are really added.

Since the ethics of LLM deem that we try to play as realistically as possible then ask yourself one simple question:

Would it be realistic to bankrupt your team by sending scouts to places like that until you have enough funds in the bank to actually tour there? I would think not.

There was a case of a well-known (albeit aged) Brazilian international of old signing for part-time outfit Garforth Town, though...

Although that was a case of the chairman being a nutjob and thinking that a suburb of Leeds was deserving of a league outfit *

Well you never know til youve tried! I'm sure there's plenty of South Americans looking to play with my Icelandic wasters if only I could get over there and impress them with my scout.
