Hey guys, I have to admit since downloading the Gold Demo I have been playing with Big clubs. The reason being that I dont see the point playing LLM rules for only 6 months. It is a long and painful road that I miss dearly, and the fact that FM2006 isnt here in Finland yet, or if it is, I have been skint and I dont get paid until Tuesday.
Anyway, my question is this.
Are there any major changes that have happened in the FM2006 version for LLMs like myself?
Has it been made harder for us? Does money talk more? Are the Shire still a nasty challenge? Is it more realistic?
For instance, starting at Chelsea in the Gold Demo for a laugh. None of my players think I have what it takes, which IMO is totally realistic. I am a pure rookie.
I think this will encourage more people to start in the lower leagues, and hopefully create more of a career structure a la LLM way of working.
For those of you that have played the new game, this may not be the correct forum, but I havent seen any answers in the other forums.
Well i've started a new LLM game the second FM2006 came out. Team: Willebroek in the Belgian 3rd divison. They just promoted from a lower devion (which you can't play ingame). Board said to avoid regelation at all cost.
After 21 matches i find myself in a comforting 2nd posistion. 15 points behind on the leader. But the difference between me and nr.9 is only 5 points. I just sold my star striker for €14,000 to a first divison team.
The point i'm going to: this is a breeze. No presure on me from the board or the fans. I got nothing to lose, so i find this game rather easy.
But this is just one point of view, i think it might be harder if you play a LLM game with a team where the board demands promotion at all costs.
Basicly, in my opinion, the difficulty of the game is based on the team you choose.
I'm too inmersed in my 'farewell to FM05' save to even start thinking about FM06.
That being said, corrected reputation increase (which resulted in crap assman reports, dead scouts and wages madness ) should only make the game better for us.
/me has decided to play my FM2005 save one day, experiment with FM2006 the next. Today it's FM2006 - training seems manageable this time around, and the scouts seem to work well: but it's early days yet
The training is vastly improved, the best it has been in the entire series. I spend lots of time with it, and the part time training is a lot more realistic too.

Seriously though, I have the feeling there's an issue to discuss there.

Only thing I don't like about part-time training: it includes Loan players as part time. I can't think that clubs really do ostracise loan players away from the rest of the first team squad...
I'm annoyed that I have to get to grips with training again; I haven't touched it since 01/02. But unless someone can tell me where the hidden "Assman controls training" option is, it seems I'll have no choice.
mkus - you can just leave them on the default setting if you wish.
Although I think it's worth setting up some schedules - it takes a couple of minutes and is much more rewarding - you can see which of your players are responding so it actually feels worth doing...
Not started an LLM game yet but am thinking about it over the next couple of weeks.
