Default Weymouth till I die!

So there I was on Friday afternoon bored at work when I started reading threads on the LLM experiences you have had. I have never managed anyone else outside the Prem and after reading some of your posts, I couldnt wait for the new challenge!

So I went home, loaded up a new game and choose Weymouth as my new project mainly as I live very close!

So a mid-table expectation, £0 budget and I had to reduce the wage bill. I sent out the scout, bought 2 players in on a free and went about my season.

What a season it was, A battle at the top all the way and eventually won the league on the final day by 2 points! I also enjoyed a FA Cup run to the 3rd round before going out to Coventry. My boys had done well!

On to the Conference and a new challenge. I am yet to start this season. So I come into work this morning and have a look at some more LLM threads only to see everyone caining the fact that its pointless starting a Weymouth game as its too easy! Im gutted! Theres me thinking I had exceeded expectations, declined 2 job offers from Wycombe and Wrexham and now Im told all along that its an easy ride with them!

My pledge is to eventually qualify for the Champions League with my Weymouth within 15 seasons. That would be a great acheivement........even with "easy Weymouth"

Watch this space!!!

You must have missed the thread that declared Weymouth as an easy ride?

Pledges don't really go down too well in here, it comes across as bragging!

Why are you going with such a difficult team as Weymouth. Just get Gretna and get to the SPL in 2 years.

Continue with the save if you want, it's your game yadda yadda. But I think few will be interested as Weymouth seem to be the new Ru$hden. As you've already played a season, I'll suggest taking over another Conf N/S team.

And it's a 3-season rule on updates

Didn't bother to read his post, eh Stan?

Gerronso - yes, Weymouth seem to be showing themselves as easy in most people's games, but don't let that stop you. As long as you play to LLM guidelines, it's still LLM, and if you get hooked on being a LLaMa and hang about, you'll know better next time Remember the 3 season update rule though, and make sure to read, learn and inwardly digest the forum rules. Welcome

The way I look on it as that it will probably take most Llamas a couple of season to get their teams where Weymouth is now. So I don’t personally see a problem with it especially as it is your local team. Give it a go and see how far you get, if you find the challenge is too easy then come back to the forum and I am sure you will get plenty of ideas for tougher challenges.

Put it this way I lived in Basingstoke for 10 years and if the Llamas had declared Basingstoke as being too good well it wouldn’t have stopped me from managing them.

What Hogie said. Just because Weymouth turned out to be a comparatively easy challenge doesn't mean you cannot manage them. The Weymouth thread is mainly a warning for seasoned LLaMas because they will find more enjoyment in managing another team. Don't let this spoil your game, and maybe the next game you will start as some other team.

As for the goal of getting into the Championsleague, well that's as unlikely to achieve with Weymouth as it is with pretty much any other non-league team, and I for one would be very wary of a thread claiming such success.
