So, it's the start of season 2, and the assman has arranged some reasonable friendlies; a couple of League 1/2 sides at home, culminating in a match against Bolton reserves.
Bearing in mind that towards the end of our promotion season we were getting up to 800 attending, why is it that I couldn't get even 100 people attending any of these games? Bolton even fielded a couple of internationals - I'd expect this to be Weston's biggest gate of the season IRL.
Im Accrington and played Bolton reserves Pre-Season with a whopping attendance of 89.
Im in League 1 and got drawn at home to Exeter in the FA Cup 3rd round, not a momentus tie but still the FA Cup 3rd round u'd expect a decent attendance - 204 turned up
that Jordi got more in for the game against his kids than Bilbao.
I'll have a look at my attendances tonight. We played Napoli at home which ought to have been a decent crowd, as they're fairly local even if they are fallen giants now.
It seems to be all or nothing here. Partick: 3714, Brentford: 106. Last season... Clyde: 128, Dundee 3721. Packed stadium for a pre-season friendly. Once the season starts they go in hiding.
Seems to be a bit less than realistic attendance in my game in Norway. At my current Div 1 club Lillestrøm, a pre-season clash with arch rival and Premiership club VIF only filled ~700 seats. My former club Fyllingen hardly attracted the players to show up, think I had an all time low at ~40 att.
mkus, definately something for the bugs forum.
not friendly related but in my Dusseldorf game, i averaged around 8000 fans for a home regional game
but whenever the II sides of the big clubs came to town, the attendance dropped to between 400-800 - crippling me financially and ruining any sense of realism - especially in a top of the table clash v HSV II, a meagre 800 turned up
