Since I said it didn't look like there were too many match fixers, they've all come out the woodwork
What Kostis said.
Fixing matches is very naughty.

Ask a pro player to look at the club badge on his chest and then throw a game, and he will tell you to take a running jump. The most crucial intangible for any LLM is whether a player loves his club, and plays for the pride of the shirt. Colours, man, they are your colours. Don't throw games.
Of course, blooding youngsters is a different matter, as has been noted.

I'm Weston super mare and was top of the conference national last season. I made it to the 3rd round of the FA cup, where'd I'd drawn Prem outfit Luton at home. A few days before this I was playing mid-table Kidderminster. No qualms about fielding what truly was my second XI to give myself the best chance in the cup game by making sure everyone was 100% fit. Ok, so I lost 2-1 in the end but it was a battling performance.

| Some people here would have done the exact opposite |

I remember a couple of years ago Bolton were playing Villa in the league cup. The un-named gum chewing Bolton hardman of a boss said that the league was his priority, and although he wanted to win, if the game was heading for extra-time he'd be tempted to tell his players to score an own-goal, as he needed them fresh for the weekend. Of course, Mr Chewing Gum probably made these comments tongue in cheek, but if faced with a similar situation in FM would you deliberately avoid going to extra time if u had a big game at the weekend....

Not to the point of trying to score an own goal, but if I want to avoid extra time I go to an extreme attacking formation for the last few minutes. Sometimes it works in my favour, often it doesn't, but as long as someone scores a goal I'm reasonably happy.

| Im not sure how you'd go about trying to score an own goal on Football Manager, unless you had signed the former Chelsea and Leicester defender who now plays for Burnley |
