Just wondering if there are still scouting issues. What are your experiences?

Doing friendlies for the 2nd season now, and got 3 horrible scouts scouring the Scottish higlands. They have actually found a decent number of players, most of them are donkeys obviously, but I'm getting a bit worried about the kind they find. Especially now in the between-season period they've found an aweful lot of 17-year-olds. That sounds like a good thing if you're building a young team. But when every single one of them has just been signed by another team after being released by fairly decent teams, it doesn't really help you at all, with an empty coffer and all.. There's hardly any freebies found. I'm only running large database, but hope this trend won't go on forever.

Playing Hereford at the moment and despite really trying to get my scouts out and about (got 3) they don't seem to be finding much at all, few decent players but i'm mostly using them to give me opinions on players i spot myself.

That one (lousy) scout finds a few players, that usually suck or are way expensive. After half a season (playing Danish 2nd Div West) I have managed to sign 4 not too horrible players, to fill the gaps.

A little too efficient if you ask me I sent him out on day one and in less than 2 months he has over 100 players for me. About 70% of them as 5 star players. And a hell of a lot that were on free transfer. Well what can I say with no money in the transfer kitty and only 17 duffers in the squal I went signing crazy, Still under the wag budget. While his idea of a 5 star player may not be exactly the same as mine I did build a squad very quickly that after 11 league games is running third in the league.

3 scouts is nice, but I wish they found quality, at least once in a while. 50% 1s isn't what I call 5-star players and they sure as hell wouldn't instantly command a place in the team.

Still only played the challenge.

1 scout and he's crap. He's only reported 4 players since he started searching and it's been almost 3 months now

I stand corrected. They found a goalie willing to join. He only let in 6 on his debut...

Interesting how the game changes each time. I'm playing the challenge as well and my scout has done nothing but report back lads he wants me to sign. Of course they're still all crap...and the few I tried to sign wouldn't play for me...but I'm amazed at how many he's reporting.

Mine (2, Italy Serie C2/C, huge db) are finding decent amounts of players.

However, there's been all of about 4 that were uncontracted, and the most common "comment" in the report news item is that &lt;player&gt; is a new signing at &lt;club&gt; having joined in July 2005. And we all know how easy it is to get players who have just changed clubs.
