Default Quick Question...

Im currently in a season with Southport in the conference- its my 1st ever tme playing at this level and im currently in a relegation battle. I was just wondering what is the usual number of points needed for safety, i.e. in the same way 40pts is the number for the premier league.

im currently 19th with 19 points after 20 games, 5 ahead of 21st place, just hitting some form after 7 losses on the bounce!

Erm, it depends. A point per game on average isn't too bad in my experience, but don't take that for granted.

There is an attitude of LLaMas about this that looks like followed: (well, it's more like an paradigm)

.) play all matches that are thrown at you
.) do *****
.) when the season is over, take a look at what happened and if you got promoted or not.

Especially part 3 is funny when you're playing in some obscure league at the other end of the world.

I tend to go in to a season expecting relegation! Anything else is a bonus!

A point per game should in most cases be enough in England, but it's not written in stone, so don't count 100% on it. A point in Scotland has been safe in most cases, but many have gone down with it as well. It varies from league to league.

I find that it depends on the performance of the other teams in the league!
