Ok, now I'm playing a quick non-LLM game waiting for the next patch to start my long term LLM game. I always like to play LLM and would like to know what you think about this.
Sign staff - only by Job centre
Sign players - only by scouting, EXCEPT for this: sometimes I do what I think is a realistic scout for myself. I go to some teams from a division above than mine and look for listed players. Why realistic? This is like make a phone call to my fellow manager and say "who are the guys you don't want there?". Of course this is not like searching player, because searching is fast, extensive and practical, while my approach is so boring that I can't really look in more than 7 or 8 teams each time. Si it's realistic because I wouldn't call 70 managers to ask it!
Well, I don't think anyone need "excuses" to do what desire in his own game. I'm not here to apologise myself, it would be ridiculous. I'm asking if you guys think it is realistic or not.

Ok. You only specifically asked one question:
Do you do the same? Answer = No
As for your implied question, my guess is you really don't want to hear the answer that you'll get here.
Specific question, ok, but I wrote "would like to know what you think about this".
I don't understand these 2 answers, making me feel like a criminal on the defensive. How can someone say what I want to hear? I'm just discussing a subject.
Personally, I think it's fine. LLM, to me, is about realism. Granted, being an American, I'm not initmately familiar with manager interactions in European football. But in American sports, general managers constantly talk to each other about who's available and who's not.
So I'd say "it's fine, just don't go overboard." You'd still want to scout any players you're interested in, just to see what your (semi-)professional scouts think.
To those LLMers who would disagree, why? Managers have phones, don't they use them?
Look, you asked a question and I answered it. I was not trying to make you feel like a criminal, and if that's what you understood then maybe you have to read my post again.
I think it's a quite grey area, hence I called your method "dodgy". Someone else might think otherwise.
This has been done and done and done and done and ... well you get the picture.
What you do is not within the principles of the LLaMa way. If you want to do it, go right ahead. However, practices which are outside the guidelines are generally not spoken about around here.
As for my comment about the answer you may get, I was just making reference to the fact that you are not likely to have anyone agree with you.

From the LLM rules and guidelines:
The Transfer Screen.
Stricter LLaMas would never attempt to sign players purely based on the fact they appear as freed in the screen that lists all transfers Worldwide as such a list does not exist in real life. It’s possible to find out such information in the Press, online, etc., but a real life manager doesn’t have access to a transfer screen.
Less scrupulous LLaMas use the screen by identifying freed players and sending their scouts to watch them, signing them or otherwise based on the scouts’ recommendations.
Not exactly the case your talking about but still, you are attempting to acquire knowledge about transfer listed players then having your scout look at them (I hope :eek
To me this falls into the 'less scupulous' style of play and we all know what 'less scrupulous' means
Anyway, it's a grey area, kind of dodgy, if you have to ask... type of issue. If you want to do it go right ahead...just don't try to convince hc LLaMas that they should all adopt your method
