"you are not likely to have anyone agree with you"
No problem, of course! I asked to hear you all!

"purely based on the fact they appear as freed in the screen that lists all transfers Worldwide as such a list does not exist in real life"

I know this. And it is not the case, because I didn't talk about "screen that lists all transfers Worldwide". Maybe a grey area, as you said, but I like this "knock the door" approach, and it sounds to me realistic and very low budget style. So, if you ask me, my opinion is that I think it is UNrealistic stay alone inside the walls, seeing a poor team and saying to himself: "no, my only interface with the world is that guy I call scout... who is Graham Bell?". See what guide explains: "as such a list does not exist in real life". So you can't use that because that does not exist in real life. I'm talking about something that does exist in real life.

You are s t r e t c h i n g the generally accepted LLaMa method of acquiring knowledge about available players. Obviously you're fine with that, so great

Wewak, I'm not stretching... I argue this out some way. Please, see what you did. I argued and then you came with "this stretches generally accepted LLaMa method". Maybe this means I have reason... So I'm sorry I didn't even know that LLM here was such a religious dogma! I thought we could show some points. I'm sorry, and I'm turning now to General Questions and won't bother you all again.
Amem.

Now you're getting it

Don't go, over in GQ it's way too atheist - they don't believe in anything

Paulo Santoro,
Just re-read your post, and missed something from before.

Kfoolmoon said it's a dodgy way to find & sign players. I half agree with him. I don't think it's a dodgy way at all to find players, especially if you're sticking within your nation. I'd think other team's rosters are a prime resource for any manager looking to improve his team.

However, I think you should always scout before signing - which your post did not imply. Always, always, always. Just because OtherCity F.C.'s manager says he has three players up for transfer doesn't mean you want them. They may all suck - after all, he doesn't want them.

And wewak,
I'd think that checking with a couple clubs for transfer listed players is lot less "gray" than using player search for transfer listed players.

Grey is grey, that's why it's not black or white.

What I do know is it's ok to scout a bloke who played well against you, but it's not ok to scour every team for talent. What we are talking about is somewhere in between. I personally think he went too far and wouldn't do it but others may.

I guess this is why it's conveniently left off the guidelines.

I don't even get the initial point. If some other team "doesn't want certain players" - he'd put them on the transfer list and already set a price tag. Mainly to avoid hundreds of other managers from all over Europe calling him and asking for that type of thing.

I will occasionally scout the division above mine. It doesn't seem to tell you about every single player anymore which is a bonus.

I wouldn't work through squad lists by myself.
