LLM in FM2006 - Too easy? St. Albans too "1337"? Or plain, simple luck?
I've been a little worried over the last few days, since my St. Albans side are playing...well, better than I've come to expect from my LLM teams!
Halfway through the first season, I'm sitting pretty at the top of the table - above a certain unnamed team in the Con South with a huge wage budget. I've never considered St. Albans to be particularly good, so I was wondering if anyone else has found they're having instant success in 2006. Even my gates are high - over 1200 at the moment, which just doesn't seem right.
Maybe I have simply managed to find a formation which works for my team, I really don't know. Can anyone give me some feedback on how they're doing elsewhere? Is LLM in 2006 a lot easier than in previous versions? I got absolutely DESTROYED in 2005...
Or am I finally just getting the rub of the green?
If someone can put my worries at ease, I'd appreciate it. LLM isn't fun if you don't feel like you're earning the success...the hard way.
Sorry if this sounds like "bragging", but far from it - rather than being pleased I'm doing ok, I'm a little uneasy about it.

I find the formation helps - I'm doing Llama challenge with Workington, i avoided relegation by a point in season one, but was bottom until i won two of my last 3 games and drew the other - I had tweeked my tactics in one last act of desperation. Now in the second season thanks to the signing of two players (not the teams best, although better than the squad average) and a fantastic youth player, I am sitting top of the Conf North in late January with a 5 point lead and only 3 defeats - the team is nearly the same, so maybe like me you got lucky with the tactics!

I definitely take the point about only half a season being gone, but the manner of my victories has been...somewhat large. Usually, I'm winning at least 3-0, 4-0 isn't uncommon.
Still...from what Marmaduke said, it seems losing is still on the agenda.
My main concern is Albans are...well, a little crap. Every match, the players have been getting rave reviews ("St Albans were brilliant today!") - and like I said, most of the results have been 3-0 or 4-0.
I'll post some more info once I've finished the first season and got into the second season. Thanks for the replies so far. Hopefully I'll be sliding down the table soon...I'll feel more at home then!

How about reading what I wrote, rather than making incorrect assumptions? This is *not* an update thread. I have been becoming increasingly concerned about what I see as a strange blip in the match engine. I'm sorry if you can't understand that.
So for the benefit of anyone who thinks this is flameworthy: this thread is about my initial concerns with the match engine. I am merely interested if anyone else has encountered similar symptoms, and I feel this is a perfectly legitimate thing to ask other users about.

Not flameworthy as far as I can see. I went through the first season pretty nicely too, but then run into problems. A good run is usually short. Been doing okayish since I guess, but based on my players, they should be running rings around me. On that basis, the game is too easy. How people playing as Chelskij and United can say the game is hard is just beyong me. Not directed at you btw.
Just get on with your game. "Hopefully" you'll run into a brickwall
