Most of us already suck in management, so we're already happy whatever job we can get and you come up with idead to get some diplomas first? Ffs, make it even more harder

FM Management diplomas? Meh, that ain't enough. We have to get actualy management diplomas. They're called C and D courses here, no idea if that's international though. Then we have to scan them and send them to SI Towers. Some chap makes a few phonecalls and approves the application if all is well. You then will get a nice letter in the mail with a code. You enter this code in the startup screen of FM2007. Connecting to SI......... Management papers approved. WOOHOO! You are now ready to play FM. Congratulations.

I regularly frequent the FM Stories forum and trying to find a vaguely realistic reason for me starting as a manager is always the most difficult part of writing a story!

I tend to just talk myself into believing that I had a spectacularly ordinary football playing career, thrashing around in the non-leagues until a "tragic" (

) injury brought my glittering career to a close so I moved into coaching!

In Grand Tourismo you need to pass you driving license in order to qualify for certain races. Well I just started think about how you could implement coaching badges in FM007.

Now I can’t see it as being a question and answer type license so thought about being put in different scenarios to pass the test.
Something along the lines of
You need to win you last two games to save yourself from relegation.
You take over as Liverpool manager when the team is 3-0 down in the CL final get the cup back to Merseyside.
Etc
How you do in these challenges effects your initial rating as manager.

Of course once I really sat down and thought about I decided that it would just be Gimic and I would far rather get the scouting sorted out rather than add this arcade feature to the game. :cool:
