As I am managing a part time outfit in the south of England I really can't expect many players say from the north of england to quit their day jobs move house and come play for me for 100 quid a week, Alas I can't send the scout to just within say 50 mile of my club, so I just scout england, I haven't bothered scouting Scotland Wales, Ireland I think I will wait till I'm a league club (Or desperate) for that.

A friend of mine broke her femur playing air guitar. She had a metal pin inserted and now it hurts in wet weather.

Okay here is what happened. Out playing a round of golf and had a very nice round. Three birdies on the round!! (Exceptionally good for me). Back in the club house I drank from 6ish to 10 ish… A friend of mine (yes it was a woman before you lot start) asked me out to dance. Well we were doing the twist and that is exactly what I did. Twisted my ankle and fell badly, well after being helped off the dance floor being an Irish man I went back to drinking, I had 2 nurses with me that said the same thing, it’s just a twist put ice on it. Now we continued to drink until 4.30 in the morning including dragging me off to a party on my bad leg! Woke up the next morning and the ankle was still sore but manage to walk slowly outside to have a cigarette. Now if it was a twist it really shouldn’t have felt as bad as it did so my friend dropped me up to the emergency room. After the Xray one doctor came in and told me that it was broke. 10 minutes later the specialist came in and said it was broken in three places and he would be operating in 20 minutes! I have had two opps on the leg and will hopefully be walking in less than a month!

A lovely “twist” in this tale is that last year my wife was out with the same girl I was dancing with an tore three ligaments in the same ankle.

Are you sure your female friend isnt the Man Utd and Ireland captain in drag?

By the way I love the trademark drunken high pain threshold, we've all been there

It is surprising but the doc told me afterwards that a bad twish is more painful than a break, which is why I and everyone else thought it was just a twist. The poor old nurses felt very guilty afterwards
