Don't get me wrong, this is a perfectly valid reason not to release as is. I'm assuming it looks as if it would be harder to market a game that doesn't have any of this. Yet: No hope whatsoever? Thing is, the then super popular On The Ball series never came with any licensed data of any kind. Editing those was all up to you. Didn't keep the game from selling at all.

It's not just a marketing issue as the original thread from Miles suggests.

On The Ball had the benefit of being developed by a small German team (if it's the product I'm thinking of - Anstoss?) which meant a fantastic amount of positive PR for them in Germany. CM never got that kind of support even considering it was a superior product.

Ok, then there's going to be no other choice but to order the game from import shops. It's still odd though. A footie game that doesn't see a German release? You've Got To Be Kidding Me!
