Anthony. I'm certainly no expert but as far as I know there are 2 types of disk that you can use.
One is a disc that can be used time and time again and the data added and removed as and when it is required, and the other is where you can place info onto the disc but then that's it. It can't be removed and there is obviously becomes a limit to the amount that can be stored on one disk.
I am under the impression that the message "'the disk is write protected' is what appears if you try to save something onto a disk that has a permanent memory, (like your FM2008 disk). Is it possible that you tried to save the patch onto your FM2008 disk by mistake?
Sorry if the above is completely wrong but I know that this sort of this is the type of stuff that has me confused in the past, (and still now on occasion). I wouldn't take what I have said as gospel but maybe just have another go and see if I might be right.
If you are still unable to move the patch to your memory stick, then probably getting a cd would be the easiest way but there sgouldn't be a problem.
