Hi, long time viewer first time poster (well under this alias - previously lost the email/password to another username!). I'm pretty pleased with the latest incarnation of FM (8.01) and have enjoyed many hours playing. Sadly, I rarely get past the first season but that's more to do with me than the game itself!!
My main issue with FM08 other than the obvious match engine troubles which will hopefully be fixed shortly is something which has been an issue for several versions now, if not since the games early beginnings. I often play as small clubs, yet when I uncover a gem I find it all too easy to hang on to this player. If I am playing in League One and my young striker nets 25 goals Championship and perhaps even Premiership clubs should be sniffing around him trying to rip him off me and it should be almost impossible to hold on to him. However, this is rarely the case.
Likewise if a club is relegated. I haven't had the misfortune of being relegated on the latest version myself, but the Ai seems to have no trouble in holding onto it's star players after relegation. If a big team (e.g.: West Ham's relegation) go down, the star players should go on mass exodus. I know there are examples of players staying, but this is the exception not the rule.

Transfer System Flaw (Steal My Star Striker!) Post #2
I think it's too easy to be sacked with this game, especially with Leeds Utd. Unless I buy the obvious bargain players I always do crap and get sack when I play without signing anyone.
