There us a lot of negativity on the board about the game so i though we could start a thread about the love of the game

I will start my sharing my views about the game for what their worth, I have a job which takes a lot of my time and despite buying the game on the day of its release like I have done for many a past game, I have not had the time to really get into this game until recently.

I have in the last few months found the game very frustrating, however I have refrained from coming onto the site and criticising the game.

I say this because when I want to criticise most, is straight after something has frustrated me on the game, e.g to many shots and not enough goals. So I often come onto the forum, and read about others people’s misery which makes me feel that little bit better.

“So thank you to all you the glass is half empty people on this board I don’t know where I would be without you”

Then on a weekend I will watch a lot of televised football and laugh at my concerns in the game.

A lot of unrealistic things can happen on FM but they also happen in professional football. That is the beauty of football.
The best team on paper doesn’t always win.
Sometimes there are high scoring games which end 6-4.
Sometimes teams have a lot more shots and fail to win.
Believe it or not some times defenders go AWOL when a striker is running at them “que Titus Bramble”
Sometimes keepers just have a fantastic day

For me personally the frustrations I have with the game make it more enjoyable because it pushes me to play on and win.
If I have loads of shots and no goals I try a new formation, I might even mix up formation during the game if the opposition seem to have the better of me tactically.
This is something that occurs in football everyday. Sometimes tactics on the day are everything.
If a player runs away from the striker I don’t moan I will let him no he had a bad game if it persists I will sell him. Similar idea if my striker doesn’t score.

Anyway back to where I starting and thanking Sigames. As I said I have a busy schedule but fortunately I have been off over the Christmas period so have a lot of free time to play the game. And with this time it has allowed me to put a lot of effort into the game and despite the fact that the game is not perfect I find it very enjoyable and so thank you.

I have to agree entirely with your positivity RichardW, I have been enjoying this game more than any of the previous versions.

The match engine seems to respond to your tactical changes far more than other versions, and the onw thing I have noticed is that if you play attacking styles then the opposition AI will exploit the openness of the match, just like in real life.

I far prefer the way the game reacts to the tactics this time and I'm looking forward to a long career game far more than on other versions, when I used to play 3 or 4 seasons and then want to start over.

Yes i learnt this the hard way lots of high scoring intense games,
Now i have build a team strong enough to play possesion football and i get a lot more 1-0 2-0 results.
Boring i know, but who ever got sacked for being boring as long as your winning? besides Jose Mourinho that is!

Wow, so far this it is the 7th post, (admittedly 3 are mine) and so far no criticism of the game.

I was expected someone to post a message saying your all wrong the game is unplayable, maybe all these people are off playing the game.

Although there is still time yet

because ive just moved house and my main pc is still at my g/f parents i have to put up with my old laptop which must be older than my dog it just about runs fm07 and 06 and i just cant bring myself to carry on with my 07 file im into 2023 and it takes an age to save and load! i feel i would miss 08 and i love it great improvement with all the features!
