I'm currently downloading the patch for Mac, after realising that it might help my crash problems (my game crashes every time I start unemployed and try to accept a job or change jobs).

Once it's finished downloading, do I just uninstall and reinstall again and it'll be there or do I have to move it in to my SI folder? If so, how and where to?

Sorry for bumping this, but can anyone please help. I've spent all day setting up a career (twice) only for the game to quit on me as soon as I accept a job offer.

I'm downloading a patch for Mac, but I'm not sure I'm even downloading the right one - I'm not up on the technical jargon and am taking a punt. I presume having the physical version means that you have the "Boxed version".

I adore FM and have done for ten years now (ever since CM 1996) and I don't want to commit the time it takes to appreciate the game only for it to quit on me whenever it likes.

Sorry, can anyone answer me my first question about what to do once I've downloaded the patch. Do I need to reinstall the game and it'll appear in the folder or do I move it there myself?

You should simply run the patch. It will look for the installation of FM and should indicate to you when it is finished.

Start FM and look out for the version number, it should say 8.0.1.

For best results, you should start a new game.

Hey, i can't the stupid patch to work. I download it and the installation window on mac tells me, the patch wont run on my pc? what could this mean.

Anyway then i click on ok and it lets me continue the installation. At the end it says: installation successfully completed. BUt fm is not updated.

Please Help me!

Hey, I just loaded the game as usual and when I began a new game, a prompt popped up asking me which database I wanted to use (the patch being one of the options). I've loaded it and it seems to be working ok.
