Great game but I continue to see the AI manager make really bad/unrealistic subs in the biggest
of matches....ie.....Champ League semi final Chelsea V AC Milan, Chelsea desperatley need a goal to advance but AI manger takes out Drogba 82nd minute-he was not hurt and was at 82%...playing well

Next game AC Milan v Arsenal in final..AC Mil down a goal in the 80th and they replace Kaka and Pirlo.....HUH?????? No way would that happen..both were fit..... SI, can this be looked at? Has this been noticed by anyone...

I wonder if there is a way to make it very unlikely that AI would sub certain players....like Gerrard, Ronaldo, Kaka, Fabregas, Totti Drogba..you get the idea

Who did they replace them with?

What formation were they playing before, and after the change.

What was the score, before after the change?

Drogba was replace by Kalou...

Pirlo and Kaka were replaced by Gourcouf and Ambrosini....

Chelsea game---Chel down 0-1 Champ League semi final in 82nd minute when sub was made....I guess my point is that the formation really should not matter...no way would a fit Drogba be taken out in a game like that I dont think....

same goes for Ac Mil game...Ac Milan in Champ leag finals down a goal...why would kaka and pirlo be taken out leaving in there Gattuso when they need that goal?

Were they booked?
Had they made some bad passes?
Had they missed some easy shots?

In all honesty I don't think the original post could possibly have been more vague.

you are missing my point. It does not really matter how these players are playing..if they are fit there is no way these type of players would get replaced during those BIG- ALL IMPORTANT GAMES....

so you mean to tell me if Pirlo made one or two passes it makes sense that he would be replaced...or if Drogba had a yellow card in the 80th min it would make sense to take him out to avoid the red even though there was only 10 minutes left??????

in the biggest of games, certain players are never ever replaced..period! But in FM the greatest players get replaced too often...

If Pirlo had missed countless chances, made several poor passes, was on 80% fitness, had a yellow card, and Milan are chasing a goal, your telling me its illogical to bring on a 100% fit AMC for a DM?

WELL, in the instance I am refering to they replaced Pirlo with Ambrosini and Kaka with Gourcuff....it just does not feel real to me. I just can't see that happening....they needed a goal so why not bring in Gourcuff for Gatusso or something....

Am I the only one that agrees with BHAMILTON? It does seem that these subs are odd to say the least, assuming they were all playing ok and there was no formation change.

Big name players do get subbed in big games from time to time, though it is very rare. Managers tend to leave them out there hoping for a world class game changing moment of brilliance.

Of course it does! If your most important player is being played out of the game, why wouldn't you take him off?

What rating was they on?
What formation changes were there?

25 minutes to go, Everton 1-1 Liverpool at Goodison, Benitez replaces Gerrard with Lucas! WTF??? is what i was thinking, plus thousands of Liverpool fans watching. What happened? Lucas won us the penalty that won the game! That is just 1 example. These things happen in football. AI would of had perfectly good reasons to sub those players. No player is unsubable (is that a word?) and it doesn't matter what game they are playing, whether it is a friendly or a champions league final or world cup final.
