I have had alot of offers come in for my players recently and they are a mix of firs teamers and prospects. I have tried rejecting outright and requesting large sums of money. In either case, the players are upset at not being allowed to move. In many situation I am listed as favorite personnel and the club as the favorite club. Why does this keep happening?
If I were to just sell everyone because of this I would have 5 people on my team. This is an annoyance and I hope it doesn't affect team/player performance. Is there a remedy to this? I'm Bayern Munich and I don't see the likes of Genoa or Fiorentina as legitimate moves upward.
Anyone else suffering form this?

Players Upset at Not Being Allowed to Move Post #2
This problem's been around a while. In 07 you could get around it by raising the asking price and a few other little tricks. FM08 you can't.
The problem is that the player is not properly assessing the value of the move, ie is it a genuine move up. For example managing Sunderland in the Championship with a genuine chance of promotion I had bids from clubs in the Premiership on course for relegation, and the players were spitting the dummy out to leave. That's not realistic.
The second factor is that the greed level of players is possibly set universally too high. Perhaps that needs toning down a bit.
Probable outcomes:
1. SI will do nothing.
2. SI will nerf greed completely so that no player ever wants to move.

I'm constantly having this problem with Premiership sides trying to poach my young stars.
Top managers appear at my games and drop hints in the media. I mark 'reject all offers' so they make sly 'enquiries', thus unsettling my boys.
Irritating, but to my mind, entirely realistic. Even the most loyal would like to move to higher reputation clubs, and why not?
It's simply a mark of success, something that every real-life manager has to live and deal with.
I find that with patience, treating the players well, praising them, winning games and generally doing all the right things, so long as they are loyal they'll not make problems and their performances won't suffer.

It's very hard to keep your team together in 08. As Arsenal, I have lost Van Persie, Denilson, and Fabregas is on the way out, ****ed at me for not allowing him to talk to Barca. And it's only been one year. I made 3rd on the table, hit the semis in the Champions League, and picked up some prime players in the process for 08-09. But Cesc, that little c***, wants to head off to his old haunts I guess. . .

If that was the way it worked then yes I would have no problem with it. However, if you read my post, you will notice that I observe players failing to realise that the move would be a step DOWN in reputation. Would a player right now move from a team bound for promotion to the premiership to join Derby? In FM08 (and previous versions) they would.

It's tended to work fine for big club/small club situations. I've always played lesser teams, and I can understand it when my players want to move to a club several divisions higher etc. Not that I let them, but hey, that's why they got tied to 5 year contracts on 100 pounds a week at age 18, right?
But the AI is not smart enough to appraise what's currently going on. Players need to realise that a team has already been relegated/promoted, for example. It'd be nice if they also considered the team's respective league positions and European competition (and player eligibility in the January window). All too often, players leave newly promoted teams doing really well for a team with 3 wins to its name in January. They really need to assess the current situation, and SI need to stop relying on the all-too-important reputation factor as a crutch for the AI's weak decision making. IMO, it's the problem, not the solution.

it the media is speculating something about the transfer of one of your players to another team ... probabily you always say :"Hands Off Warning" ... I always say that I will sell the player at any price ... even that the player is one of my key players ... I never had problem with these, because I always "let" them moving ... about the player offers ... I do like you ... raising the offer, until the other team will stop negotiating ...

ive found a way around this. it used to happen to me but ever since i done this it hasnt happend. when they make an offer delay it. then reject when it comes back and they dont get upset. they have never been upset when i have done this so maybe its a way around it?
