Hi guys long time FM fan and this is my very first post on here..
Just begun my second season as MKDons on the large database with the new patch and am finding that sides dont really get involved in too much transfer activity in terms of buying players.
for example a side like man utd or chelsea will only sign 1-2 players a season, sides fighting relegation from the prem with a new manager often manage to spend barely a million when in reality the cost of being relegated would make bringing in decent players a neccesity.
Pompey spent 20 odd mill in 2006 and it kept them up, west ham spent 20 odd mill and it kept them up, in FM fulham got relegated (19th in jan) after bringing in a new coach before january who signed absoloutly nobody and they finished bottom.
The transfer windows are there for a reason yet AI sides take no notice of them??
I agree. Sometimes the top clubs only need to add 1 or 2 players, so that is realitic imo, but lesser clubs, especially newly promoted ones tend to buy more players as they will need a stronger squad.
I also notice that relegated clubs don't seem to offload too many of their high earners, something that is some what neccesary in those curcumstances.
Yeah, have to admit it. I have only recieved one bid from teams for our players. Bearing in mind I am Derby, that's probably realistic. The 'offer to clubs' option doesn't bring many signings to fruititon either.

I remember reading somewhere that the average number of football league transfers per club per season is around 8-9.
Look on your FM game and i guarantee most wont go anywhere past 3-4
