hey guys, i know this sounds a dumb question but ive only just started using fm editor. Im trying to swap my created team with a team from an english league, ive tried a few times but every time i load up fm England isnt loadable on my game. Can anyone talk me quickly thru on how to swap a team properly and what i need to make sure ive done to bring england up on the new game.

Load DB.

Create Club (remember Chairman and stadium).

Search for the league that you want your new team to play in. Double click it.

Click the "teams" option in the left pane.

Double click the team you want to replace.

Click competitions in the left pane, untick both "current competition" (league?) and "previous".

Go back to your created team, click competitions, tick the current league box, click the magnifying glass, search for the league you've just taken a team out of, click it.

Save league (pref as something new but no biggy).

And of course make sure you pick your new DB when starting a new game (which is why I rename it so it's obvious).

I hope the above is clear. Basically remove a club entirely from one league and put your team in it.

Obviously if you're going straight into the Premiership or similar you'll lose a big team but they'll quickly come back up. If you're really anal you can move that team down a division, then move a team from the division below down one and repeat it until you've dropped a Conference South team out the league.

Von mate, is it really a big thing if you don't create a chairman? What about for smaller clubs that don't have a chairman because they can't move into a playable league (prior to my editing of course). do i need to create chairmen for them too?

The game will create a random chairman if a team doesn't have one.

No need to worry about it.
