I'm not enjoying much luck from using this tactic. I seem to take the lead in most games, but then go on to lose 3-1. Those 3 goals typically coming within 20 minutes of the inevitable switch to all out attacking the CPU makes.

What would you recommend to do if you go 1-0 up away from home? Just leave it? Stick the barrow in and leave everything else? Put counter attack on and drop the attacking mentality down?

My results so far with Spurs (08/09 Pretty decent players):

Everton H W 2-0
Man City H L 0-2
Bolton A L 1-3
Liverpool A L 1-3
Nottingham Forest H L 1-2
Chelsea A L 1-7
Aston Villa H L 1-3
West Ham H L 1-3
Sheffield United A L 1-3

I think in the last 7 games I've scored first in the first half but then been slaughtered from there on in. I tried the barrow on it's own, and I've tried going defensive with counter attack. The Chelsea game I tried just leaving it as it was, which produced disasterous results.

Help? It seems a very,very solid tactic until I score and then it goes pear shaped.

I tried this tactic at the start of the week and found it leaked too many-so I dramatically reduced the closing down on the defence (to between 3 and 5) and took off the playmaker option.

Oh, and slowed down the tempo.

It tightened up a lot-but so saying I've gone back to an old 442-sorry.

I'm not sure if I agree with the playmaker being a winger-and playing down BOTH wings-surely that means that to get the playmaker involved you are focussing down 1 wing?

I tried it with the playmaker being the 'free-role' midfielder-that worked best for me (although having no playmaker worked just as well...!)

i'm not too sure why you're all having these defensive problems, they didn't happen to me.
The only thing i can thing of reccommending at the minute though is to set the defensive line a bit deeper, which when i tried it did just the same as before. It could do better for you though :thup:

right, i've made a few updates to the defense and so far i've only tested it in 2 games, although i did win them both:
Everton 4-0 Blackburn - I went down to 10 men aswell
Everton 2-0 Bolton - Again a red card though
So far it looks as though i've managed to fix the defensive even if my team does seen to be getting really dirty
I'll post the update later if it works for another 2 games

I found this tactic quite poor for me at least. Getting dominated at home by bottom of the league isn't a good sign, but i failed to win in 11 games using this, which is strange as you have to be crap to not win in FM07 with a striker to head. Not for me but kutgw.

well i just making a few final adjustments, it seems that now when when you score you tend to score even more rather than conceding, although the team seems to start the game pretty slow. I'll post the new tactic in a minute

I have tried every tactic I can find with Everton none seem to work for very long the best one I used so far was Frankys but that only worked for one season. So if this one works I will gladly buy you a pint! one question though do you use any special training or the default? Thanx in advance.
