i just played fulham away with my beloved toon and i was winning 2-0 everything going great when after a corner is headed away to boa morte, i find that my keeper is at least 6 yards off his line, leaving a space for boa morte to strike from 20 yards!
i went on to win 3-1 but the goal was soft! and i would've only conceded 3 in 12 help would be muchly appreciated

your GK mentality and CF should be very low,also CD,FR and others.

Personally Im against fiddling "too" much with the Mentality. I am sure you will solve this "problem" by lowering CD, CF & set Forward Runs to "rarely". Actually, I have set ALL my Keepers orders to "rarely".

All good suggestions, but if he's got a high eccentricity attribute, there may not be a lot you can do about it, other than flog him!

I'm playing at Juventus, where I supposedly have the best keeper in the world, Gianluigi Buffon. He often rushes out and makes a hash of his clearances, costing me many goals, despite having set all those instructions to rarely.

So I dropped him for my best under-20s keeper who, despite not having brilliant attributes, seems to be a lot more consistent between the sticks.

they are already all low except for closing down which is about 6, my keeper makes weird clearances and they all lead to goals 9/10!

I keep all the keeper settings around the 1/2 way point, the mentality sometimes a little higher than 50% and this works well.

The best method however is to prevent shots on goal in the first place.

lol i got oscar ustari,once i was winning 2-1 and for some reason incomprehensible to me he went off his line to join the attack when i had a corner,it was the 68th minute. so i let in a goal from about 80ft out,freak.

Mine aren't generally from shots, they are from back passes or from long balls over the top from the opposition, and Buffon rushes out and tries to make a hurried clearance.
