It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

I'm gonna need some suggestions here, as I'm trying to recreate Lyngby BK's (current leader of Danish 1st Division) tactic in FM.

They play a very attacking formation best described as 4-1-0-4-1. That's a 4 back line with the fullbacks going forward to support the attack, a hardworking DMC, and 5 strikers/forwards/wingers usually played as a lone striker in front of AML-AMC-AMC-AMR. Some of these should probably have barrows.

The players available are generally faster and technically superior to the opposion, but inferior when it comes to raw strenght and height.

The style of play is ultra-attacking, with all players looking to build up an attack. They pass quickly and precisely along the ground using throughballs when possible. They often dribble past opponents. The striker and the AMCs should all be good targetmen, when played to the feet.

My problems are, that I can't get this to work in FM. I constantly get hammered, if I play with 5 players in front, and my defense can't prevent a tall and lazy striker from scoring on every chance he gets.

Do you have any suggestions for this, or am I on an impossible mission here?

Perhaps they use this tactic because the rest of the division is rubbish?

You could recreate something similar with forward arrows instead of actually placing 4 AMC which is suicide

No, they use it against all opponents, and they've received much acclaim from pundits after a couple of TV games against stronger or equal oppostion. They're currently 10 points ahead of no. 2.

In FM07 they are predicted 2nd, and should be able to beat most of the competion.

Would it make much difference with ML-MC-MC-MR all with farrows, compared to AML-AMC-AMC-AMR all with barrows?

I have no idea, but 4 or 5 in midfield sounds better than none

I don't know if it's helpful, but I found this clip of the recent 4-2 win over their closest competitor. It's a long clip (10 min.), but it shows the first 7 minutes uninterupted (Lyngby scores 3 in that time), which gives you the chance to see the formation in action.

Lyngby in action

Yeah, that's why I started out with barrows.
