Hello! My question for you is do these scout reports are useful.I'm playing with National|Romania| and as you see I don't have a good scout at all.If they are useful how should I play? For example they |my opposition| plays a direct counter football.Should I play attacking short or direct counter attacking like them.Any advices.
I use the scout reports suggestions, but not with complete confidence. Sometimes no matter what method of attack the opponent is using, they will dominate and your only choice will be to defend and try and grab a goal on the break. Other times you can play through teams without trying to counter them what so ever. I use the scout reports as a heads up for what to expect. I then set up a tactic using only the dangermen and passing style information (I ignore their probably formation) and then tweak like crazy during the match if I'm constantly on the back foot/not getting any shots/have less than 48% possesion at half time.
i think if you read the threads, it says if oppenent plays direct, you go short passing and if they play short passing, you go direct.
chilly1173 I read the topics, but I'm just interested how you're playing not cleon(he's a great tactician of course).I'm just thinking paulsgruff if I would play every match with a new tactic depending of my opponents, wouldn't that "constantly changing your tactic.......... will affect your team performance".
if oppenent plays direct, you go short passing and if they play short passing, you go direct.
I've never understood this train of thought. If you counter your opponent by doing the opposite, then wouldn't the opponent be also countering you?
Imagine a team playing short going against a team playing direct. Wouldn't both teams believe that they have the advantage since they are playing the opposite style?
I totally disagree with changing you passing style to counter the opposition. You should make a decision on what type of passing style you are going to adopt at stay with it.
How to play is a combination of current league, player quality, club reputation and personal preference.
For example. Vauxhall Motors start in the Conference North, they are predicted to finish 22nd. However I like my players to play the beautiful game. I would suggest playing a mixed passing style (last notch of mixed). The only time I would change this is if I was facing a much better team(I used the match odds to determine this) and it would only be by moving 2 notches to the right(2nd notch of direct).
