I've played three seasons in La Liga with Valencia. First season I played a fairly basic 4-4-2 using mainly the default global settings and just made some small changes to suit my players. I fell short to Barcelona by two points on the final day. I was fairly happy with this and improved the squad in the summer.
Second season got off to a slow start as I was trying to play some attrative passing football. I've had problems with this style in the past so wasn't too worried but as the season went on I really struggled. I know the 4-2-4 thing has been done to death but this cost me at least a dozen times. Also there were a few 2-3-5 moments. The problem I had was that in watching the opposition fromations during matches sometimes teams would literally run through 5 completely different formations in a single match and win, yet when I try and change a formation it will normally take 3-4 matches to bed in.
Anyway In my third season I managed to counter the silly attacking tactics but I came second again and think that this is down to me not being able to play well consitently against the teams which play the narrow 4-2-3-1. Any advice?
