It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Conceding goals after opponent's red card

Two matches in a row the opposition has been shown a red card early in the match. I am playing with Hibernian in the SPL and both times I picked up the tempo, spread things out, and attacked. Both times the opposition has not only scored goals but beaten me with 10 men. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Both times the opposition has gone to a 4-4-1 and I have been playing a 4-4-2 attack or occasionally a 4-4-2 attacking diamond. Any thoughts?

attacking, high tempo and wide leaves you open to counter attack, an oponent with 10 men will counter attack. I suggest you lower the D-Line to cope with CA better, you could also lower the tempo as this gives away far fewer interceptions.

Stack the midfield and set someone to mark the opposition striker so he is isolated all game and he won't be able to do much as a lone striker with a 10 man team. Make width the maximum so the running would tire your opponents and increase tempo as well. Stacking the midfield would ensure possession is kept and chances might come better.

Well, I guess there's two differing opinions.

ubos... that's pretty much what I tried and as I stated it didn't work. I figured I'd tire them out by running a fast tempo and going wide, but what likely happened is what timpino stated where my opponents kept to the center of the field and just counter-attacked. I did mark the lone striker and he still beat his mark (and I used by best marking central defender - a 15). I like the idea of dropping the defense back and will try that. What I did was push them forward in hopes of providing more of an attack.

I may also mix up my passing and width instead of just crossing from wide, that may keep the defense more on it's toes and prevent a counterattack better.

if theyve got a man sent off then you already have the advantage! try not changing anything until you really have too!

Whenever the opposition has a player sent off I tend to hide behind my hands and pray for full time.

When the opposition find them self with 10 men, it is up to them to take the game to you. If i am already performing, prior to the dismissal, i simply keep playing they way i am. If not, i extend the width of my play, and spread the ball around the park. I almost guarantee you, it will result in a goal.
