Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

It can't just be me that gets no stop injurys do to training. I have my training schedules on medium but in the last 6 days (in game) i've had:

Damaged cruciate ligaments 7-8 months

Groin strain 3-4 weeks

Back strain 3-4 weeks

Stubbed finger 5-6 days

On top of that i've had another 4 first team injurys in the previous 3 weeks, ranging from 2 days to 3 months.

Can someone throw me a lifeline? please

yup you do get injuries in this game, and it sucks. But so do real life teams and the only way to get around it is to have backups and youngsters to backup the backups, I had a rough patch with 8 of my first teamers on injury (and I don't use rotation) in adition to this I had my 2 goalkeepers in the Uefa squad out for 2 months at the same time. I just had to adapt to this and try to give the oponents no ball time at all to minimize the shots and I did go through.

I know of no sure fire way to reduce injuries in training, but lowering aerobic and strength would seem a good idea in my book.

check your training schedules for a start. you can actually train fairly high in aerobics and strength--IF your total training doesn't exceed an overall level of 'medium.' when you tame the training injuries, you'll still lose players to match-day injuries.

one thing to keep in mind though is that some players will get injured often no matter what. some people have the bad luck of having squads full of injury prone players. like real life, some players just aren't that durable (imagine the career marco van basten would have had with good ankles)

as timpino said, it's important to have a deep squad. that's really the only insurance against injuries.

PS i feel your pain, currently my starting AMC/playmaker, his backup, my best striker and my best keeper are all injured (none of them training injuries though).

Injuries happen in real life. So does clubs experiencing weeks or even months with several players out. Many times clubs complain about their 'injury crisis' in the press.

I recommend not over doing the training at any time. I know people max the physical training pre-season but that just leads to a lot of injured players and a disrupted start to the season.

I reckon training should stay on 'medium' during the season, probably lowering your training if you notice the condition of players dropping due to fixture congestion. Pre-season I recommend moving it up, but not too high. If you notice a lot of injuries in this time, lower it slightly.
