Do you close down more if they are good at passing or do you close down more the worse there passing is?
I thought you closed down more the better they are at passing so that you can try and stop them from making good passes, but the more i think about it the confused i get because if they are good at passing and you close down wont they just pass around you into the holes you leave. Were as if they were bad at passing and you close them down they will make more mistakes.
I usually close down when they play a possession game because they like to have time on the ball in that case so by closing down you reduce their tome on the ball. If they play direct then the quick passing suits them so by not closing down you hold your defensive line and they will find it harder to play IMO.
