I've started a game with Newcastle on the FM08 demo and I've had bids accepted for both Dean Ashton and Johann Elmander (from Tolouse), both of them look pretty useful for playing as a target man.
Anyone used either of them so far and which would you recommend?

not that im biased or nothing, but id go for ashton. he doesnt need to time to adapt and hell create and score for you

I'm sure you're not remotely biased 
but have to admit he looks pretty impressive so far, I've just offered them both contracts so will wait and see if they accept.

Ashton's pace and accel are both underated, but considering your using him as TM it shouldn't matter to much. Still a shame though.
I'd buy Ashton before Elmander though because he is already playing in the premiership and has great physical stats and good technical stats.

Yeah, I noticed his pace seemed low. I know he's not the quickest irl but still 7 seems a bit on the harsh side.
Anyway I went ahead and signed Ashton, he's playing a blinder so far

I've got a competition on the Fri it's due out and someone is gonna be hammers. I'll have to sign Elmander and hope for the best!

Ashton's pace is low due to the long term injury and lack of games. I'm sure with a regular run of games and training his physicals will improve, also only 24 + English.

| Nagh they lowered his acceleration and pace because he was scoring to many goals when they tested the game.
