Hi everyone. Just ran into a bit of a problem. I am currently in my first ever LL game with St Albans. I have employed a few scouts to find me some players. I really need a goalkeeper. One of my scouts comes back and says he has found this goalkeeper, and he would be an excellent signing and an essential part of the team

Great I think. Or not

Because this goalkeeper will blow my transfer budget, I get him watched by a different scout. When this scouts report comes back he says that the goalkeeper is not of the required standard to play for me!

Now I know that I have had in the past slightly different reports from the scouts, but these 2 scouts have almost the same attributes, the only real difference is they preffer different formations. Any one come across this, and what can I do, just who do I trust??

Trust one... or the other. Or go to a game and watch him play. What would you do in real life if two scouts disagreed?

Sack 'em both for being incompotent. The chairman would give me the money to hire some more or else i'd eat his children!

In my FM experience what the second scout means is 'We won't be able to attract him to our side' (be it reputation or wage trouble).

i just don't trust scouts..sorry, my one and only scout....full stop!

he always finds the worst players for me to sign. I think he has some personall vendeta (sp) against me and wishes for me to fail.

Mebee one of them doesn't bother with a goalkeepr in his formation

I almost always ignore my scout's one line summation of a player's ability and make my own judgement based on the attributes he has uncovered for me instead. Shame, in a sense, that those are always (I think...) 100% accurate rather than just the scout's judgement, but anyway...!
