Sorry to come across like a right beginner but....

If you're looking for a coach in the staff search screen and you come across a player/coach who wants to join you can you sign him w/o scouting or what?

I'm relieved that I'm within the rules here but it does worry me. At Workington I was looking for a GK coach and found this guy, an ancient ex-international from a so-so European country (who'd finished his professional career in England)happy to join me on part-time terms.

Imagine my shock when he was called up :eek: True it was just to keep the bench warm and no doubt sit the younger players on his knee and tell them war stories but still ....

Mind you I can't persuade him to change his mind about retiring so my benefits are strictly short-term and I'm inhibiting the development of my young keeper by playing him but to my mind he shouldn't have been willing to come to Workington in the first place.
