How many scout trips in the UK require hotel stays? I would imagine not many.
How many scout trips from the UK to mainland Europe would require staying in a hotel? Likely 90%.

Given the state of Britain's transport system I would say quite a few trips could require an overnight stay (especially if you were playing as one of the teams from the SW of the country) - I live in North London and I should think Manchester/Liverpool would be my personal limit for a day trip. Some parts of the SW and North Wales would definately fall into the overnighter category for me as would Scotland (unless I flew up and hired a car) and NI.
And if one can fly to Scotland or Belfast in an hour or so why not include most of the Iberian Peninsula which is very well served by cheap flights with a similar flying time?
I have flown to both Oporto and Barcelona in the morning, had a meeting and flown home again in the evening so I do not see going to a soccer game as much different.
I thought the game factored in foreign players unwillingness to move countries (I have certainly had players turn me down because they didn't want to move countries, or to an obscure team like Barnet) so I'm not sure that flooding the Conference is going to happen.
I currently have three Portuguese and a Belgian bloke out of 25 (I also started with a Nigerian, a Jamaican and a couple of other Caribbean players, whom I am sure are playing in England because of their parentage rather than having been scouted in Kingstown or Lagos). No Scots or Welsh though (the Scots I like will not come and I cannot think of a Welsh player I have liked).
