I've been thinking about when it would be the right time to move my players from part-time contracts to full time ones.
The only idea I've come up with is when their wage demands reach levels that they can afford to give up their jobs and concentrate on the important thing (and, of course, when I would still be within my wage budget).
My problem is, not being a huge football fan I've got no idea what would be considered a minimum wage for a professional player.
Any ideas?

I'd say anything below 2000 pounds per month aren't enough to have a living with no other income.
Nevertheless, you also have to keep in mind that giving up a job means that you might have problems returning to "normal life" after your playing career, so (at least in Germany) people only turn professionals if they can earn well enough so that they have an existence after their careers.

I would say that wages alone aren't necessarily what all player looks for, a long term contract equals stability to many players.
I have moved all my players full-time contracts, a few of them earning under £1000 per month, and the better players still fall under the less than £2000 per month category. Of course having lots of players on 3 year contracts at such a small club also has it's downsides that you need to take into account.

I barely stop to think about it, if I'm honest - probably because it was largely irrelevant in prior versions and partly because my only experience at 06 is at an Italian club that is already professional at the beginning of the game and has 80-90% of it's players on full time contracts anyway.
What I have noticed is that a couple of my younger players on low wage deals are very unwilling to sign new deals on full time terms, citing the desire to stay part time in the negotiations news message. I got a young keeper who had such concerns to sign only when I significantly elevated his wage (fortunately he'd had a decent run in the first team due to injury so I knew he was up to it). So for me the AI is doing a fair job too.

I have a few kids on £500/month full time contracts, and don't really have a problem with the realism. The way I see it, they are 18 or 19 years old, and this is their first real job anyway. They can live with their family for the time being until they have proven themselves - then they can sign a bigger contract. Obviously, a 36 year old ex-premiership veteran would never sign such a contract, so I'm not even trying.
