Just gone through some aquaplaning par-excellence

Picture the scene...

We're going into March, 14 points ahead in the League, in the final of the League Cup, 6th round of the FA Cup and the quarter final of the Champions' Cup (Sorry, last 16).

Next League game's against 19th place Middlesbrough, and we lose 3-0, goalie MoM, they score their 3 shots on target, we miss our 17...pah, I can live with that...but then...

League Cup final against Liverpool(), we go into a 1-0 lead early on and are giving them a real going over, and they score two on the break...their only two shots on target...goalie gets MoM (sub-goalie) and we fail to net any of our 19 shots on target...no problem, it's cool...

Walsall. EPL newcomers, and residing in 'Boro's 19th spot after they beat us. 1-0 after 4 minutes, only shot on target, relentless pressure, 34 shots on target, their goalie MoM, we fail to net from 34...I'm getting annoyed now...

'Boro again, FA Cup 6th round, 3 shots, 3 goals, we have 19, no goals, goalie MoM...I'm actually laughing now...

...but we hump HJK 5-1 on aggregate to get through to tha quarters against Inter.

in that period we lost 7 players with long-term groin tears, with a further 3 recovering.

I'm really looking forward to FM2005

Just beat Villa 2-1, though. Their goalie got MoM for saving 13 of 15 shots on target, and we lost our DC with a torn groin muscle.

He's a real beauty. Been with Newcastle since the start, 17 seasons, and he's been out for a total of 42 months with groin injuries.

Good DC when he's not injured, though.

What the hell were you driving? A monster truck?? :o Thats some serious damage!

I backed into a lightpole whilst on work experience some years back and did the equivalent value damage. Nearly knocked the pole over

I think he may have also been involved with the U21s as well. I've never been so far into 03-04 to see how he develops though.

This isn't anything to do with Aquaplaning or black ice, but my mate had a Ford Capri 2.8i and was reversing it into the drive where his dad's company car was. It was a Ford Scorpio and his dad had just told him that he was to get that car for huimself as he was getting a new one. (I should point out here that they have a family run business and can afford company cars.) Anyway, while reversing on the drive in the Capri, Tony's foot went from the accelerator onto the brake, but it slipped and went back onto the accelerator, causing the Capri to hit the front of the Scorpio at about 20mph in reverse.

Both cars were written off.

Oh much hilarity ensued when me, Tony and the lads went out on the beers that night. He still hasn't lived it down and it was about six years ago.

Nor should he live that down!

Back to CM...this Wales thingy to be precise. Up 1 - 0 against TNS and they then have two men sent off. I put 12 shots at the goal 10 on target and they have 4 (2) and what is the final score?

1 - 1 .
