We had a long(ish) thread about this some time back. I don't think we ever figured out just when the transition happens from semi to pro. I've had it happen in versions past, but could not detect a pattern to it. RIght now in my Workington challenge game, I have about half (or a little more ) of my players on full-time deals, but remain semi-pro. If I get promoted to the league 2 I am curious if this will change my status. I can't imagine it will until I get all or most but my yutes onto full time contracts. And yeah, my staff wages allowed are utter crap, hence my staff is utter crap

In my Workington challenge I eventually persuaded most of my first team squad to turn full-time with the intention of someday having a fully pro squad, but I cannot get a single staffer to sign full-time terms, prolly ços of the 20-40 quid wage cap. The one exception is my player/coach who's retired from playing and is now paid three times as much to do the same job AFAIK. I dunno if this will therefore block the club going pro.

To cut a long story short and kill this thread, the board decide when the club turns pro. It has nothing to do with whether your players are full or part time.
