I'll be damned before I let an eye-candy addition to the game ruin my save.

I nearly resigned over that one (just for realism's sake of course!). But then I figured I'd just tick it to them once the club turned pro . But still, what is up with the pay cut?!?! | They didn't want to agree to my terms either. Kept insisting on a long-term contract at slightly increased salary when I wanted a short term contract so I can renegotiate soon. If it weren't for the challenge I would not have accepted their terms. Damn you, Glyn!

Amazing how this thread drifted right back on topic.
Anyway, I second Hogie and iaj on the realism part. If you're gonna play it as close to a true simulation as possible, you might as well do it all the way.

| I'm not sure it's simply eye-candy, tbh.
part-time/full-time in the past was a sort of "eye-candy" as it meant nothing. this has some relevance in the game. and 80 pounds per week is hardly "eye-candy" .

Yes, but it'd have no relevance to my decision of jumping clubs or staying put. Sure, Manure can add a hell of a lot of 0's to my wage, but accepting their offer would surely ruin the enjoyment of my save.

| Put me in the enjoyment over realism camp. I play LLM because it's the way I get the greatest enjoyment out of the game. For the most part that's because it strives for realism whenever possible. If the realism however potentially ruins the fun of the game I have to remind myself that it is just a game ("Blasphemy", I hear some zealots shout). It's the same reason why I didn't like the training module in 05. Even though it was pretty darn realistic, it just was no fun for me, so I had to let the assistant handle all of the training (something I would find unrealistic IRL). The new training module is much less detailed but now I handle training myself because it's not such a pain in the arse.
Luckily, the guidelines seem to be geared towards finding the right balance of realism and fun, and allow for some flexibility.
