Why do you need to ask such a question. If you were a player and you and all your team mates had been put on the transfer list, how would you feel? I don't expect you would have much loyalty toward your manager do you?

The only limit that you should oblige to is wage budget. This is set by the board. Now, if the board doesn't know how to recalculate expenses, that is their problem. Not yours.

What we try to tell you is that we don't know how selling all your key players will effect your teams morale. If they get offers, it probably won't. On the other hand if you ask for mutual termination and they al accept, you might get some people worried. Specially the donkeys that hired you.

I take it upon myself to take very careful note of my finances, but then I regard it as an essential part of the game!

Not doing so implies that you feel the financial management by the board at each club is implemented as realistically as it possibly can be...I guess it is up to each individual to decide if that is the case or not.
