I'd like to have seen someone else do better. Crewe are stunningly under-resourced. He's already having to strip down what was probably the best "football" team in division 2 last year.

How can you not count that, Ferguson started at one of the smallest clubs any currently 'world class' manager has... He was successful at each clubs before joining Aberdeen, where he broke the Old Firm stranglehold and had success in Europe after which he became United boss...
Although, having looked it up, he did only spend 4 years and East Stirlingshire and St Mirren, before joining Aberdeen, but that's not my point...
