Goal: For Weymouth to win the champions league.
Leagues: England (all the way), top divisions in USA, Argentina, France, Germany, Spain, Italy (top 2).
DB Size: Huge
All USA players in the player pool
Random Players
Season 1
Weymouth, Conference South
Expectations: Gain promotion
This season went by in a blur. We breezed through the league with ease. My brilliant young AML was sold to Middlesborough midseason for 1.5mil (after 21 games, 7 goals, 16 assists, 6 MoM and an 8.48 ratings). I brought in a Trinidad and Tobago international that became my fans player of the year.
Highlights: Making it to the semi-finals of the FA trophy
Lowlights: Losing in the second leg 2-0, at home, against a crappy team, with only 566 fans there (which is still a record LOW).
League: 33-7-2, 124 goals for vs. 38 goals against, 32 points in front of the 2nd place team
FA Cup: 2nd round loss to Lincoln
FA Trophy: Semi-Final loss to Altrincham
XFers in 87k, XFers out 1.5 mil
New 3 year contract and a youth facility upgrade
Season 2
Expectations: Bravely battle against relegation
We oscillated wildly from 18th up to 3rd. Eventually we settled into the 10th to 7th range but a string of good results at the end saw us finish 6th (7 pnts out of 5th though). At one point I tried to lower my salaries but my board got upset with me when my salary was 300k less (per year) then the target.
Highlights: Finishing vastly above expectations despite a shaky start
Lowlights: Still losing money at a prodigious rate and ending the season 1.2mil in debt
League: 6th place, 22-14-10, 91 goals for vs. 62 goals against
FA Cup: 2nd round loss to Burnley
FA Trophy 2nd round replay loss to Woking
Xfers 31k in, 300k out
Season 3
Expectations: Safe Mid Table
Again we were up and down but doing much better than the previous year. Eventually we settled into a nice bouncing around position of 7th-4th. Around X-Mas the club was nearly 2mil in the hole and the financial situation was unsecure so I was forced to sell two players for 4.5mil. I asked the club to consider expanding the stadium but they refused. At that point I actually considered making a jump to another club but I elected to push on. I did have a brilliant young striker come through the ranks (29 games 23 goals, 16 assists, 5 mom, 7.72avg) and he propelled us through the promotion playoffs and up into league 2.
League: 5th 24-9-13, 115 goals for vs. 74 against, beat Greys and Exeter to win promotion
LDV Vans Trophy 1st round south to Walsall
FA Cup 3rd rnd - Bradford City
FA Trophy 3rd rnd - Billericay
Highlight: Promotion
Lowlight: Being bounced in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy
XFers in 31k, XFers out 4.54mil
Season 4
Expectations: Bravely battle against relegation
At the very beginning of the season I sold my brilliant striker for 4mil and immediately asked the board to expand the stadium (6000 capacity but only 800 seated at the moment). They told me to butt out. We're still losing 100k+ per month but at least we have a nice big war chest. Brought in a bunch of players and sold off some troublemakers.
Lost our first game 1-3 but bounced back and now we're 14 games into the season and performing above all expectations. We had a rash of injuries that helped to unearth a good youth GK and FC (blind luck). At this point the club has taken on a decidedly Swedish feel with 4 Swedes that all start regularly.
League: 9-4-1, 35 goals for vs. 12 against, 2nd place
League Cup: 1st round loss to Brighton
FA Cup: not entered yet
LDV Vans Trophy: 2nd round vs. Northhampton to be played
Highlights: Beating Aldershot 8-0 away
Lowlights: Having my 4 strikers and 3 goal keepers injured simultaneously
Weymouth was shockingly easy to get out of the conference south... but their finances don't warrant the ambition the board has and that is the real problem...

Seeing as you can sell players for 5 million (:eek a season, finances seem to be the least of your problems.
since i lose 100k to 300k per month that 5mil doesn't last long... in fact my "war chest" of 6 mil is now down to 4.5 mil after just 6 months in league 2... I have NOOOO idea what my board spends it on, lord knows i don't spend it on players.
I picture board members flying private jets to every game with my youth players feeding them grapes and fanning their lazy butts...

Take a look around how many clubs in the L2 and below afford the luxury of owning a youth facility.
didn't mean that in the literal sense... weymouth starts out with bottom line facilities of all kinds and my youth facilities have been upgraded once (if the old system holds then i went from a 1 to a 2 on a scale of 20... might be different in '06)
