Default Conference National Harder than League Two?

Is it just me or has anyone else had the perception that League Two is less competitive than Conference National. I've played two LLM games (Weymouth and now Cambridge City) in fm06 so far and with both of them I struggled in the conference national and then ripped through league two in my first season in charge...

Is this a coincidence... in both games I went on minor spending sprees after promotion so maybe I just got lucky twice?

I hadn't noticed this in previous versions (03/04 and cm3)...

I found that the quality of Teams in League 2 is comparable to the Conference, so if you've won the Conference it's unlikely you'll not get promoted the following season.

It was the same in my Accrington game. The teams in League Two are so inconsistent that all it takes is a few wins to be up near the top.

that's kind of what I thought... i suppose with two promotion spots in conference national it is more darwinian...

I think it reflects real life quite well. Look how well conference teams have done over the past few years after promotion into the league.

Still finding the conf bloody difficult though!

I agree completely... Conference National appears to be very tough (and points wise, very little seperates 5th from 15th)... Both of my promotions from the conference were rather lucky...

with weymouth i had a horrible spat of injuries to forwards that unearthed a brilliant striker that I didn't even know I had...

With Cambridge City I only signed two players in the transfer window and both of them turned out to be fantastic... carried me up up and away...

without those two flashes of luck I would probably still be struggling in the conference...

Same experience here. Been the same for several versions in both FM and RL to my knowledge.

All those years of only one promotion place from Conference creating a logjam effect I suspect.

Compared to the massive step up from Conference N/S to Confernce national, I'd say it's tiny.

i think you are correct,as doncaster got promted via the conference and then got promoted in league 2 with ease in IRL.

There's also the factor there are two extra promotion spots in League Two and two less relegation spots.
