Default AI signing players just after the season ends
I've noticed in 07 and also last night playing 08 that there's an awful lot of offers for players on my shortlist just after the season ends and, more importantly, just before I get the transfer budget for the forthcoming season.

Last night I missed out on my top two targets because of this and got quite cross.

Does anybody else have this problem?

Maybe the AI managers are spending the leftover money in their transfer kitty before it gets reassessed for the new season. It makes sense, when you think about it, because how much cash you have left in the pot doesn't seem to make any difference to how much you get for the new season.
