Default Database size? (FM08)

could someone please explain to me in detail the exact difference between the three sizes (small, medium, huge). most people i think play with a medium. but what do you get extra with a 'huge' database and what do you lose out on a 'small' database?
i also have another question - what slows the game down more in general, the database size or the number of leagues running?

If you choose a huge database, you will have an access to more players in the whole world. IMO it's better to choose the biggest database - you can look for more talented players, etc.

Wonder that as well. Is it only lower league players or something?

the number of leagues of course. when you choose 4 playable leagues, the game will have to simulate 4 leagues.. it is much more than 1

1. There is no "exact" answer, because the DB size is dependent on leagues running, players retained, managers nationality etc. Suffice to say that the difference between small, medium and large is a huge amount of players (starting and regens).

2. Again, sorry, but it's a combination. There might be a more precise figure available if you compare an exact amount of leagues to a certain database.

Also keep in mind that a low detail level in the game can help you speed things up.

I'm curious though why you want answers to these questions? If they are relevant to your machine, then people can offer more advice if you post your specs.

Good luck gaming anyhow
