If you can't run 4 leagues on a medium dbase with that computer, something else must be wrong, or your patience is incredibly low.
I only have 512M, and 4 leagues with a large database just flies.

So just how slow is "unbelievably slow"? An occasional 10-20 seconds of processing time is quite normal. If we're talking minutes, with so few leagues, then something must be wrong. </BLOCKQUOTE>

10-20 seconds! i wish.
in the early rounds of cups i can be kept waiting for over ten mins a time. and no i don't run any other programs

To answer the initial poster:
Small-&gt; You get most players from your country(leagues you chose) and only well know players from others
Medium-&gt;most from your leagues and some more from others
Large-&gt;probably all from your leagues and most from others
I usually play a large database with 5,6 countries(2 leagues per country) with some additional nations selected(even with large database I won't get all the players from Brasil if I don't manually load them).I have a brand new Vaio though.
One important thing: for some reason as the seasons go by the game gets slower.I think it's because the game now generates more players than those that retire(now that newgens aren't copies of retired players as it happened some years ago.was always fun to find which kid was the new Figo,or the new Zidane.quite easy too).If you want a looong game(I usually play 12,13 season games) only pick countries you know you'll be playing. If you're ok with short 3,4 season games then picking more leagues is more acceptable.
