It's like I watch the same match nearly every other match I play. The pattern goes like this:
- About 3 clear cut chances missed by my team
- About 5 long shots missed by my team
- One or two similar chances for the opposition which results in a goal for them
- Half time
- About 3 clear cut chances missed by my team
- About 5 long shots missed by my team
- Opposition go close on the counter
- Goal for my team!
- Wait, no, the goal was disallowed
Then it's pot luck as to whether I score next or the opposition score next as I've changed my tactics to a far more attacking formation.
It seems to me that my team find it amazingly easy to craft opportunities for my forwards where they're clean through and one on one with the keeper, but my forwards find it amazingly difficult to ever score these chances.
It's like I'd rather get a corner or a set-piece, because it's more likely to lead to a goal than a one on one chance.
I'm pretty sure that if you offered any manager the possibility of having his forwards one on one with the opposition keeper at least 5 times in every match, he'd bite your hands off. But in FM it's no better a chance than a corner or a long shot, and I feel this is something that really needs sorting.
And I don't want to hear anything about tactics, thanks. If I have a tactic that guarantees strikers being clean through several times a match, I won't be changing it. Why should tempo and mentality only work well for defenders and midfielders, yet completely ruin a striker's luck in front of goal? It makes no sense.
And then in the next match, one of my forwards will be in exactly the same situation, having received exactly the same team talk, being on exactly the same morale, and put away 3 chances out of 3. It breaks my brain.
I can't think of any striker in history who would score a hat-trick, then miss the next 10 one on one chances with a keeper in the following matches. Then score 2 chances out of 2. Then miss another bucket load in the next game. Especially not a striker with awesome composure and finishing stats.
I don't get it.
Problem is, I can't stop playing the game. Same problem I've had since the very first CM, so I dunno why I'm on here complaining.
NO NO NO NO, you must have rubbish tactics, becuase to be honest its all in depth analysis and much determind opinion that actually makes the decision wheather u are going to win a match or not, im arsenal in my second season ans i have managed to conjour up 25 straight wins an unbeaten 64 games and have only conceded 50 goals in two seasons!! although i ususally score in the first 5mins all the time which is annoying although i gotta say that simulation does get boring after a while....

But you just said it's also causing a boring match

I wouldn't be so bored if Owen, Torres, Aguero, etc, could actually stick one or two of their chances away when they're clean through and one on one with the keeper.
The 'superkeeper' thing always turns up at some point in each variation of FM. I agree that scores need to be kept down, but it gets silly after a while.
