Haha you are spot on, im experinceing this aswell. Dosnt matter if i have worldclass or average strikers, they will miss some crazy open goal chances and total stupid longshots.
Meanwhile the opposition might get 1 or 2 chances and will usally score, my worldclass defenders (Kompany & Mertesacker) is just standing still and looking at the crap striker dribbleing like a superstar and scoreing against Petr Cech with his one and only shot.
Ive tried Juventus, Tottenham, PSV and Forientina, and i get a quite few of these matches, they dont happend ALL THE TIME, but they do accour quite regulary. And they ****es me off. I dont mind these games against good teams, but its usally happends vs the not so good teams.

I agree I played Arsenal and the first season I had quite a few games where I had one on onee and failed to score any of them most of my goals came from corners and free kicks which aint really very realistic and then theres the dissallowed goals theres way too many in one game I had seven count it seven dissallowed goals you can understand I was a little peeved bloody lucky West Ham LOL

That is the story of my life in this new fm. It absolutely drives me mad, i have about at least 5/6 chances "he cant miss" in a game and the opposition (rubbish opposition at times) has ONE, ONE attack and they score, usualy a poor player too, its soooooooooooo frustratin |

I know exactly what you mean. I am fed up with the same old crap. Every game I play seems to be a stitch up waiting to happen.
Chance after chance goes begging, penalty missed, 3 goals disallowed from useless corner bug. 20 shots and their goalie - some stupid 19 year old saves everything - Man of the match. 88th minute arrives 1 shot, 1 goal and I lose 1-0.
Now I can take it every so often but it's starting to wear a little thin.
I have come to the conclusion that so few people truly know what the sport of football is now about. I have personally played football at a reasonably high level and have taken coaching badges. I feel the creators of the current game have no touch with reality and the tactics feature is a complete waste of time.
And as one of you so rightly said - I can't stop playing because I love football.
All i can say is having played the game from cman 93 on floppy discs - bring back Domark and Eidos. Clearly the footballing brain has been lost along the way leading to Football Manager. Time for me to get CM2 back out - when the game peaked and the makers of the game had a brain.
As for 64 unbeaten games - stop turning it off when you lose and re-starting it.
Sick of it!

Just thought I'd add a quick bit of what I call personal proof.
Supposed 'Hints and tips'. Short passing should be slow tempo and direct passing quick according to the football manager 'genius's'.
Example: Arsenal = short quick passing - they are immense and go from one end to the other in seconds.
Bolton = slow direct balls to kevin Davies. Equally effective for them back in the day.
I rest my case.

I've never understood why so many people say they like FM because "it's realistic." They never explain WHY they think it's "realistic," they just keep saying it is.
Perhaps that mantra is an example of the power of marketing. If a company says something often enough, people begin believing it.

I think the game is ridiculously scripted and the game will let you win if it wants you to win. I totally agree with the original poster. I just experienced it in my match Arsenal v Southampton who are 19th in the table whilst I'm 2nd. I have 24 shots, 17 on target 1 goal. Yet they have 2 shots, 2 on target, oh what do you know, 2 BLEEDING GOALS!! Scored by the same bleeding player who had never, NEVER, scored a goal for them until he plays me. Amazing. It's becoming laughable now.

Awesome, an 'AI is cheating' thread
| Can you honestly say you have never experienced the scenarios the various posters have mentioned? Of course I don't believe the AI cheats and has some line of code that recognises a human manager is in control and decides to screw them over. But that doesn't make these events any less frustrating nor does the fact that a poster believes the game is cheating suddenly invalidate the event they have experienced, and the emotions it has stirred causing them to post in this forum. Also the fact that you have never experienced this (if your answer to my initial question is no), or that it is a tactical issue, again does not invalidate what the person who posts 'the AI is cheating' feels.
If someone posts how they just scored 2 goals in the last 10 minutes to win the FA cup, is their joy at this, being a positive reflection on the game, worthy of the Ackter litmus test for valid post? Would you then refrain from sarcastic responses? I understand you are on these forums over 3 years and have probably seen a million 'AI cheats' moaning threads, thus leading to a jaded, sarcastic response. But I ask you is it necessary? Couldn't you just ignore the post?
From reading previous posts of yours I am of the understanding you were part of the testing team for various versions of this game (if I am mistaken then I apologise). If this is true would it not be just as easy to post something along the lines of 'I was involved in the testing and can categorically state that the game doesn't cheat'. If the person still insists on ranting then just add them to your ignore list. There is no need to antagonise someone who is clearly already wound up.
