Regarding the comments about peoples experiences in development- I would respectfully suggest that none of these projects are anywhere near the a) the amount of code SI deal with, b) the sheer complexity of FM, bearing in mind the AI involved.
Therefore I dont believe anybody here can draw true and reasonable comparisons to the work SI do.

Many different people work on many different aspects at one time, periodically all or part of their work is compiled to create a test patch.
This is tested and the process repeated, eventually a build will be arrived at which satisfies everybody enough to be released but there is now way to predict when that will be.
It could be today, it could be next week,.
The only certainty is that it will be a soon as possible.
You don't get quantifiable progress, you get in progress, complete.
There is not status in between those two.

Kriss is spot on, it needs to be stressed that due to many levels of AI (AI Manager, Transfer market, players and the match engine) that FM is arguably more complex than any piece of software you have ever project managed.

I would respectfully suggest not. But then we'd be into another dick-swinging contest. There doesn't seem like a lot of point to me.
